Sen. Elizabeth Warren pounced on President Donald Trump's "Pocahontas" jab at her Monday, punching out a fundraising email that aimed to seize on the "very worst of gutter politics," according to multiple reports.

Trump went off topic during an event in the Oval Office to honor Navajo code talkers.

"You were here long before any of us were here. Although we have a representative in Congress who they say was here a long time ago. They call her Pocahontas. But you know what. I like you. Because you are special," Trump told the gathering.

Cue the fundraising letter.

"You might have heard that Donald Trump likes to call me 'Pocahontas,'" Warren wrote in the email.

"But today, he stooped to a disgusting low," wrote Warren, D-Mass. "He did this because he thinks that he can bully me and shut me up. He thinks he can bully and silence anybody he wants . . .

"Every time that Donald Trump calls me 'Pocahontas' — and the media goes crazy over it — he's happy that people are not focused on how he's trying to cut taxes for billionaires and giant corporations.

"Let's show Donald Trump that we're sick of his racist slurs by getting to work to fight his agenda. Donald Trump can keep attacking my family — but I'm going to keep fighting for yours," the email read.

Warren denounced the slur earlier Monday in an interview with MSNBC.

"This was supposed to be an event to honor heroes who … saved the lives of countless Americans and our allies," Warren said. "It is deeply unfortunate that the president of the United States cannot even make it through a ceremony honoring these heroes without having to throw out a racial slur."

Warren is up for re-election in 2018.
