The leading candidates in the race for the Republican candidate for both West Virginia governor and senator from the state have overwhelming leads, according to a WOWK-TV/Emerson poll released Friday.
Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is leading the race for the Republican candidate for governor with 54% support, well ahead of Chris Miller, who has the backing of only 16.2% and Moore Capito, who has the support of 14.4%.
In the poll, Mac Warner is the choice of 6.2% of those surveyed.
However, 28.9% of the voters are undecided in the poll, which was conducted March 19-21.
In the West Virginia race for the GOP candidate for U.S. Senate, Gov. Jim Justice has the backing of 54% of voters, with U.S. House Rep. Alex Mooney well behind in second place at 16.7%.
In the Republican primary to be senator, 22% are undecided. The primary is less than two months away on May 14.
