Much ado was quickly stirred on social media Saturday during the G7 Summit when James Landale, diplomatic correspondent for BBC News, noted President Donald Trump didn't appear to be wearing an earpiece as he sat in a roundtable discussion with foreign leaders, the Washington Examiner reported.

Landale tweeted, "A short clip that sums up this G7 summit: look who has chosen not to hear a translation of his Italian host's speech," to which many others quickly replied on Twitter.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer quickly lay the issue to rest in his own tweet on Saturday that said, "As usual ‪@POTUS wears a single ear piece for translation in his right ear."

Landale later tweeted the president wears an earpiece in one ear for translation.
