White House staff on Sunday received an email from the White House Management Office reminding them to stay home and seek medical care if they were experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, reports The New York Times.
Additionally, staff “should not go to the White House Medical Unit clinic for any COVID-19 testing inquiries.”
President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for the virus on Thursday. Trump, 74, who was flown to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center outside Washington on Friday, has taken two doses of a five-day course of the intravenous antiviral drug remdesivir, as well as the steroid dexamethasone, which is used in severe cases.
Doctors said the president had a high fever on Friday morning but had not run a fever since Friday.
He left the hospital Sunday afternoon to make a surprise visit to supporters who have been gathered outside.
