Renowned economist and author Thomas Sowell was recently interviewed by Mark Levin on his Fox network show. The discussion touched on the topic of "systemic racism."
Sowell described the label — we refuse to dignify the phrase with the term theory — as a concept totally divorced from reality.
"[Systemic racism] really has no meaning that can be specified and tested in the way that one tests hypotheses," Sowell stated. He added the pervasiveness of the phrase in the OpMedia and leftist politics reminded him of the "propaganda tactics" of Nazi Germany. Reich Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels believed "Make the lie big, keep it simple, keep saying it and eventually they will believe it."
We don’t make it a habit to disagree with someone as esteemed as Sowell, but in this instance, we are forced to do so. "Systemic racism" can be tested and Thomas Sowell is proof the concept has failed the test.
If the U.S. was under the thumb of "systemic racism" and minorities were really oppressed, a Black man like Thomas Sowell would not be an author and university professor, and he certainly would not be allowed on nationwide TV.
Would a nation governed by "systemic racism" elect and then re-elect a Black man as president? Of course not, and Obama’s election alone proves the nation has erased the stain of official racism.
"Systemic racism" is just a phrase people who hate the United States use to dishonestly attack America. Every minority police officer, elected official, business owner, sports star and professional is a living refutation of the "systemic racism" smear.
But reality isn’t useful to the left in its attacks on our country, so reality is ignored.
We are eagerly anticipating the response to the left’s call for national strike on Monday.
Fox Business says leftist unions are organizing a strike that "will include workers from fast food, nursing home, rideshare and other sectors, according to SEIU. Labor groups including the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the American Federation of Teachers and the National Domestic Workers Alliance are supporting the walkout."
The employees are to walk off the job for 8 minutes and 46 seconds to remember George Floyd.
Why the union would want to risk the livelihoods of people in one of the few sectors of the WuFlu economy that are still working is a mystery. A mystery until you realize the true purpose behind the walkout is to cause chaos in the economy. Any workers who are fired for walking off the job — and they should be — will then become weepy stories lamenting the cruelty of capitalism.
It’s a cynical ploy to make victims of your supporters to further the goal of defeating President Trump in the fall. And that’s another topic Sowell addressed with which we are in complete agreement.
"If the election goes to [Joe] Biden there's a good chance that the Democrats will control [Congress] and considering the kinds of things that they're proposing, that could well be the point of no return for this country."
That’s why the most important trip you can make this year is your trip to the polls.
