9mm Migraine: Soccer Goalkeeper's Headache Caused by Being Shot

A Bosnian goalkeeper was unaware he had been shot in the head during a recent match and continued to play for 90 minutes before seeking medical attention for what he thought was a very bad headache.

Dusko Krtalica, 51, began complaining about the headache early on in the match, which was played in the Sarajevo suburb of of Boljakov Potok, according to the local newspaper Dnevni Avaz.

The report was picked up by Ryan Bailey of Yahoo Sport's Dirty Tackles, who wrote that Krtalica soon "complained of a stiff arm and had difficulty speaking. He was driven to a local hospital, where doctors were shocked to see that a 9mm bullet was clearly lodged in his skull."

It is unclear how the player did not feel the bullet enter his skull during the match.
The bullet was reportedly fired by an irresponsible local resident during a wedding celebration.

Police subsequently arrested 42-year-old Seyne Ligata and confiscated his pistol after 12 more rounds were found in close proximity to the field where Krtalica was playing, Yahoo News reported.

The goalkeeper's operation to remove the bullet was successful and he is currently recovering in stable condition, according to the Bleacher Report.

During the game, Krtalica allowed only one goal.
