An air-powered car built out of Legos, the popular line of colorful interlocking plastic bricks, actually works and can even hit 20 mph.
The yellow and black hot rod uses more than 500,000 Lego pieces and 256 working pistons to run the engine. The vehicle was built by Australian Steve Sammartino and Romanian teenager Raul Oaida.

They told Pocket-lint.com that they're keeping air-powered Lego car's speed low because they fear a "giant Lego explosion."
Fans funded the project. Using Twitter, Sammartino posted, "Anyone interested in investing $500-$1000 in a project which is awesome & a world first tweet me. Need about 20 participants..." Pocket-lint said. And that was all it took.
Lego began making its famous toy bricks in 1949. A worldwide fan base has since formed, allowing the company to branch into movies, games, competitions, and amusement parks. As of 2013, around 560 billion Lego parts had been produced.
