Alex Trebek became a trending Internet topic after the "Jeopardy" host rapped popular lyrics for a category called "It's a Rap" on the show.

Marking their Twitter posts with the hashtag #AlexTrebek, many laughed and offered their admiration for the relatively staid game show host who stepped up and managed a decent rap by the end of the category. His delivery on the first couple of answers was a little stiff, but Trebek played into his role by the end and managed a decent rhythm.

Many online were amused by Trebek’s rap delivery:

Many also referred to rumors that accompanied the rapping segment that hinted Trebek had died.

Along with Trebek getting a virtual high-five for his rapping attempts, the fact that an older female contestant answered most of the questions got some attention too:

The lyrics Trebek rapped came from Grandmaster Flash, The Beastie Boys, and the final $2,000 question was "'You go ooh and ahh when I jump in my car/ People treat me like' this hall of fame L.A. Lakers center." "Today" show hosts were tested on the questions and couldn’t answer that last one: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
