Amanda Peet stunned fans this week when she admitted to initially telling her husband, David Benioff, that the idea for “Game of Thones” was “terrible.”

"I’m going to come off so badly on this show. Yes, I thought it was a terrible idea," Peet told Conan O’Brien during a Monday appearance on his eponymous talk show. "Terrible. It's just silly. It's like 'Dungeons and Dragons' but real with real people."

Her admission sparked a strong reaction from the audience, and Peet quickly explained that she’s now "obsessed" with the show and recently tried to avoid spoilers for next season when visiting her husband’s office.

Benioff and D.B. Weiss co-created “Game of Thrones,” and the wildly successful HBO series has since won 14 Emmy awards.

The clip of Peet’s admission made the rounds on the Internet, with numerous news outlets mentioning it and sharing it on Twitter.

Some Twitter users have questioned why interviewers tend to focus on the her husband’s career rather than Peet's own.

Peet stars in the new HBO series “Togetherness.” Her acting career has included roles as Jordan McDeere on NBC’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,” and Laura Hellinger on CBS’ “The Good Wife.”
