Amazon.com has added 15 U.S. cities to its Sunday delivery schedule, which the company had already been offering in New York City and Los Angeles.
Amazon announced Thursday it would add Sunday delivery to Austin, Texas; Cincinnati, Ohio; College Station, Texas; Columbus, Ohio; Dallas, Texas; Houston, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana; Lexington, Kentucky; Louisville, Kentucky; New Orleans, Louisiana; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; San Antonio, Texas; Shreveport, Louisiana; and Waco, Texas.

“So far, the most common items delivered on Sunday include baby supplies such as newborn apparel, books, and toys — Sunday delivery is clearly crossing errands off the weekend to-do list,” said Mike Roth, Amazon’s vice president of North America operations,
in a release. “We know our Amazon customers love the convenience of everyday delivery, and we’re excited to be offering Sunday delivery in more cities across the U.S.”
The release said Amazon and the U.S. Postal Service will continue to roll out Sunday delivery for a large portion of the U.S. population this year. Customers indicate when they check out if they’re interested in Sunday delivery and must check to see that their items are eligible and that it’s available in their region.
"As online shopping continues to increase, the postal service is happy to offer shipping solutions that allow shippers and customers alike appreciate the benefits of the U.S. mail," a
USPS spokesperson told CNN.
Sunday delivery charges are the same as other days of the week.
Amazon customers were excited about the opportunity to get their packages on Sundays.
