Andrew Lincoln will reportedly leave his starring role in “The Walking Dead” after the upcoming season, and someone else may be joining him.

Lincoln has portrayed Rick Grimes, the series central character, from Season 1. He’ll appear in six episodes of Season 9, Collider reported.

In addition, Lauren Cohan’s new “Walking Dead” deal only calls for her to appear in six of Season 9’s first eight episodes, according to TV Line. She plays Maggie in the series.

Cohen recently snagged a role on the new ABC series "Whiskey Cavalier." Shooting on that series is scheduled to commence in the summer and possibly continue through the fall.

With the departure of both Rick and Maggie, fans wondered how long “The Walking Dead” would survive — or even if it should.
