A rumor swirling around on Thursday that outspoken conservative pundit Ann Coulter refused to stay on board an airplane when she found out it was piloted by a black woman started to pick up speed online before it was debunked as another gothcha by the Daily Currant.

An article posted to the Daily Currant said:

"According to witness reports Coulter was concerned the experienced, decorated pilot in question may have gained her position as a result of affirmative action and wasn't fully qualified to fly."

Though the Daily Currant is a satire site, one lesser-known than its inspiration, The Onion, that didn't matter to many readers. The Coulter story soon began circulating on social media networks as truth and many more took the farcical report as truth.

Twitter users railed against Coulter:

The story became so widespread that investigative site Snopes eventually debunked it.

Coulter currently does commentary for Fox News.
