Anonymous has targeted rapper Kanye West in a new YouTube video that says he and his wife Kim Kardashian are a disgrace to humanity and a sad example for young people — including their own daughter.
"We once had a great deal of respect for you. We admired your art, creativity, original vision, and non-conformity in your work. But now, Anonymous has targeted you here with this message because you disgrace what you stand for. When you self-proclaim to be a modern Renaissance prodigy in your radio and TV interviews with such an obnoxious history, it pisses us off," says the video's narrator, who wears a Guy Fawkes mask,
VH1 reported.
Of particular concern to Anonymous is West's marriage to reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who is famous for a sex tape, and last year posed nude on the cover of Paper magazine. The group argues that her choices set a bad example for their daughter, who will grow up in a world that encourages young women to believe that they are only valuable for their sex appeal.
"You seem comfortable with your wife as she continues to milk society’s attention with their own uncontrollable obsession with sex," says the narrator.
"By approving this irresponsible behavior, you are accepting the reality that one day your daughter will face the repercussions of this photo with classmates in school. You also are condoning this to the young girls who follow Kim on Twitter and witnessed her success as she continuously rises to fame and stardom using her body. What a fantastic moral to spread, right?"
In the end, Anonymous concludes that West's morals were on track when he first rose to fame, but he has ultimately proven himself a classless philistine unworthy of comparison with the great thinkers of the Renaissance.
"It's time to awaken from your insanity, Mr. West. In reality you're not a Renaissance man, you're just are a new slave that the industry uses to keep the population in a cycle of stupidity and distraction," says the Anonymous critic.
"Your blind sight will never allow you to see how empty your accomplishments really are to the future of our species."
