Anthony Weiner included his child in a photo of himself in his underwear that he recently sexted to a woman, reported the New York Post, and now his wife Huma Abedin said she is dumping the ex-congressman, said Fox News.

Abedin, a longtime assistant to Hillary Clinton, issued a statement on Monday after Weiner's latest scandal broke over the weekend.

"After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband," Abedin said, according to Fox News. “Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy"

The Post reported Sunday that Weiner, 51, exchanged numerous pictures with the woman, described by the tabloid as in her 40s.

One photo included Weiner's pelvis area with his young son in the background, reported the Post. The tabloid said the photo was one of more than a dozen selfies sent to the woman by Weiner.

The photo exchange involving Weiner's son happened July 31, 2015, when Weiner sent a message to the unidentified woman saying, "Someone just climbed into my bed," reported the Post.

The woman asked, "Really?" and Weiner responded with a photo showing a bulge in his white, boxer briefs and his son cuddled up to him wrapped in a green blanket, wrote the Post.
.
"You do realize you can see you[r] Weiner in that pic?? the woman wrote back, said the tabloid.

The Post said Weiner fretted that he might have spent the photo publicly, similar to the incident that forced him to resign from U.S. House of Representatives in 2011. Weiner was a seven-term Democratic member of Congress when forced to resign in embarrassment after a photo appeared of him on social media wearing tight-fitting underwear, reported The New York Times.

Weiner had sent the photo to a college student in Washington state but the photo ended up going public, noted the Times. Over the next month, Weiner admitted to having inappropriate online exchanges with at least six other women.

In the latest incident, Weiner told the Post that he and the woman "have been friends for some time," but their conversations were private. The tabloid said many of Weiner's messages to the woman "show(ed) him bragging about his manhood and shamelessly lusting after the woman."

Social media responses ranged from humorous to outrage.
