Arnold Schwarzenegger has muscled his way into Donald Trump's old job as host of "Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC which cut its ties to Trump in June when he began his presidential run with not-so-nice remarks about Mexican immigrants.

The former governor of California and long-time movie actor will appear on "Celebrity Apprentice" for the 2016-17 television season, according to Entertainment Weekly

"I have always been a huge fan of 'The Celebrity Apprentice' and the way it showcases the challenges and triumphs of business and teamwork," said Schwarzenegger in an NBC statement. "I am thrilled to bring my experience to the boardroom and to continue to raise millions for charity. Let's get started."

Even though the initial split with Trump was acrimonious, CNN Money suggested that NBC and the real estate mogul-turned-politician may have let bygones be bygones, judging from their own statements and responses.

"After leaving the show to run for political office, Donald made it clear that he wanted 'The Celebrity Apprentice' to be able to continue to raise millions of dollars annually for worthy causes, and now NBC and I have found an amazing new leader to do just that," said Mark Burnett, the show's executive producer.

Trump, for his part, was complimentary of Schwarzenegger in a Twitter post after the NBC announcement.
