Judd thanked fans for her support through Twitter Monday.
Franchitti, who is recovering from surgery on a broken right ankle, two fractured vertebrae and a concussion, according to The Sporting News, also took to Twitter to express his gratefulness for the well-wishing fans.

Franchitti's car went airborne into a fence near the end of the Houston Sunday's race, reported The Sporting News. The Sporting News wrote that 13 spectators were injured, according to Houston emergency officials.

Franchitti wrote on Twitter that he was hoping for the best for everyone hurt in the accident.

USA Today wrote that Judd and Franchitti married in a 2001 private Scotland ceremony after they were engaged for two-year engagement. Judd's sister, Wynonna Judd, was the maid of honor, while Franchitti's brother Mario was the best man, added USA Today.

Judd was seen this summer in the movie "Olympus Has Fallen" and will appear in two movies in 2014, "Dolphin Tale 2" and "The Identical" with Seth Green, Ray Liotta and Joe Pantoliano, according to IMDb.com. Earlier this year, she flirted with running for U.S. Senate against Kentucky senator Mitch McConnell.

Franchitti won the Indianapolis 500 three times – 2007, 2010 and 2012, according to his website. He also was crowned the IndyCar Series champion in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
