August Adolphus Busch IV was detained Monday after allegedly trying to fly a helicopter while intoxicated.
Busch, the former CEO of beer company Anheuser-Busch, landed the helicopter in a Swansea, Missouri, parking lot before 1 p.m. Monday and reportedly attempted to take off around eight hours later, the Belleville News-Democrat reported.
Officers found four loaded guns and eight dogs in the chopper with Busch's wife, according to the newspaper. They also found prescription pills; two bottles were prescribed to Busch, and two to his wife.
Busch tested negative on a blood alcohol reading, but officers took him into custody based on his erratic behavior and sobriety tests.
"Taking the totality of circumstances into consideration, I believed (Busch) could be under the influence of a controlled substance," Officer Jason Frank wrote, the BND reported.
Busch was released Tuesday and has not been charged.
The beer scion has brushed shoulders with the law before: he fled the scene of a 1983 car crash that killed his passenger, and in 2010, his girlfriend was found dead of an overdose at his home. He wasn't charged in either incident.
