A baby boy found in a Nebraska dumpster on Wednesday is in good condition, but the body of the boy’s mother was apparently found in a different location. A 5-year-old son is still missing.
WOWT 6 News confirmed on Thursday with the sister of Jesus Marinero that it was her body found in a ditch on Wednesday. Police have not confirmed that information.
“My sister is dead. No one knows about the boy,” the unidentified sister told WOWT, speaking of missing 5-year-old Josue Ramirez-Marinero. He was last seen when Jesus Marinero picked him up from daycare Wednesday afternoon. The child found in the dumpster is Angel Ramirez-Marinero, 11 months, WOWT said.
An Amber Alert was issued for Ramirez-Marinero. The mother and two young sons were
reported missing about 4 a.m. on Wednesday, The Associated Press reported.
The 5-year-old was wearing a gray shirt and sweatpants, and the AP said he could be in a silver Jeep Cherokee with Nebraska plates SRH941.
The man who discovered the baby in the dumpster told KETV he was cleaning out his car and heard something nearby.
“I went and looked on the inside the dumpster and I seen a little hand with an empty water bottle moving," the man, who didn't want to be identified, told KETV.
Another woman, Emily Winkle, who comforted the baby, told the station, “He wasn't crying at all, he just had a few marks on him. I was shocked. I'm expecting. I'm due in two weeks, so it was shocking and upsetting that someone could do that."
