A homeless man with a "great heart" who discovered a backpack full of cash and traveler's checks at a Boston mall Saturday did a good deed when he turned it in to police who later found its owner.
The unidentified Good Samaritan picked up the black backpack in front of a
T.J. Maxx store at the South Bay Mall Saturday, according to CBS Boston.

The backpack reportedly contained $2,400 in cash, $39,500 in American Express traveler's checks, passports, and other various personal papers, police said.
Officers later returned it to a mall customer who reported losing it inside the shopping center's Best Buy store.
The homeless man's fellow down-and-outers praised him for his good deed.
"People will probably tell him he’s nuts, but homeless people are the first to help you out," Bob Boisselle, who, like the nameless humanitarian,
stays at the city’s Long Island Shelter on Boston Harbor, told the Boston Herald. "They don't have anything, but they'll give you what they do have."
"He’s got a great heart," said Aaron Toye, who stays at a different shelter in the city. "He did the right thing."
