Legendary news personality Barbara Walters made fun of herself as Baba Wawa during her guest appearance on the "Saturday Night Live" Weekend Update segment this past weekend, spoofing her 50-year television news career.

Before welcoming Walters to the anchor desk, "SNL" showed a retrospective of the actresses who have played Walters in the show’s skits over the years, including the late Gildna Radner, Cheri Oteri, and Rachel Dratch.

After Walters was introduced, she touted her ability to make her interview subjects cry.

“Nothing brings in the viewers like seeing a celebrity reduced to tears,” Walters told Weekend Update anchor Cecily Strong. “You may think I’m really feeling bad for them but all I’m thinking is ka-ching.”

Walters, who has been a co-host on the ABC’s “The View” since the show began in 1997, will officially retire on May 16.

Across her decades in the news industry, Walters has interviewed celebrities, U.S. presidents, world leaders, and many other famous people.

Turning 85 in September, Walters told the New York Daily News that she’s going out on her own terms.

“It’s the first time I don’t have something else (on the air) to go to,” Walters said. “I look forward to that. I could stay on if I wanted to. I control the show (The View). It’s not as if anyone asked me to leave. But I’ve accomplished what I wanted to accomplish.”

The Daily News reported that Walters was close to a final agreement to interview Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling and his mistress, V. Stiviano. Stiviano did sit down with Watlers, but Sterling will instead appear on CNN with Anderson Cooper on Monday night.
