But here are five things you may not know about Ben Stein:
1. He said Donald Trump isn’t a great businessman — During the 2016 presidential campaign, the Republican economist called the anti-free trade rhetoric of Trump, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders “a disastrous mistake,” according to The Guardian. He also said Trump “is not a great businessman,” but added that he would vote for him anyway.
2. Stein had celebrity classmates in high school — While attending Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, his classmates included Sylvester Stallone and Goldie Hawn, according to IMDb. Another classmate was journalist Carl Bernstein, who would later help uncover the Watergate scandal that brought down President Nixon.

3. He worked for Richard Nixon — Stein first rose to prominence as a speechwriter for President Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal. Later, he defended Nixon and said he should be remembered as a peacemaker.
4. He’s appeared in some major films — Many people remember Stein’s small role in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” in which he repeats “Bueller? Bueller?” as a school teacher. But he’s had a wide range of character roles in such movies as “Tales from the Crypt,” “The Mask,” “Planes, Trains & Automobiles,” and “Ghostbusters II” as well as many TV roles, according to his website.
5. He's friends with Al Franken — Stein backed liberal Al Franken in his 2008 run for Senate and even donated to his campaign, according to The Associated Press. The men have reportedly known each other for more than 30 years.
