A Bill Cosby accuser has been arrested on suspicion of possessing heroin outside a San Diego County jail, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported police as saying.
Chloe Goins, 27, was parked at the George F. Bailey Detention Center in Otay Mesa, California when she was approached by a deputy for a vehicle violation about 10:45 p.m., sheriff's spokesman Ryan Keim told the newspaper.
A substance authorities believed was heroin was found in Goins vehicle and she was arrested, Keim told the Union-Tribune. It wasn’t clear if Goins, who was being held on $25,000 bond, had entered the prison or was just on the prison grounds.
Goins was a model who charged that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her at a Playboy Mansion party in 2008 when she was 18, said People magazine.
She told Los Angeles prosecutors that she became sick when Cosby gave her a drink and blacked out after the comedian escorted her to a room. She claimed she woke up with her clothes off to find Cosby biting one of her toes, per People.
Cosby's attorney have denied her allegations and said the comedian was in New York at the time of the party, the Los Angeles Times reported.
In 2016, the Los Angeles district attorney's office declined to file, the Times reported.
The Associated Press reported in June that a judge denied Cosby's motion to dismiss a civil case filed against him by Goins and a trial has been scheduled for June 2018.
A Pennsylvania criminal court jury considering three counts of aggravated indecent assault charges against Cosby could not reach a unanimous verdict in June, NBC News said. Former Temple University employee Andrea Constand had charged that the comedian drugged and sexually abused her at his home in suburban Philadelphia in 2004.
