Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Steve "Crocodile Hunter" Irwin, is dating, the teenager revealed this week.
"There is someone special in my life right now, and I'm really happy with that,"
she told "Entertainment Tonight." "Life is wonderful at the moment."
Irwin, soon to be 17 years old, didn't reveal who she's been seeing, but she has been spending time with professional wakeboarder Chandler Powell.
Just two weeks ago, she posted a picture of her and Powell to Instagram, announcing that he recently joined Wildlife Warriors, the Irwin family's conservation foundation started in 2002 by Bindi's parents.
"Our global ambassadors are changing the world and making a huge difference to spread the message of conservation. We must work together to create a beautiful world for the generations to come," she wrote in the photo caption.
While Irwin would not say definitely who her potential love interest was, she did disclose some of her more general thoughts on suitors.
"He would have to be very kind and loyal. You've got to love the outdoors, you've got to be able to go camping and love wildlife and have that same passion for making the world a better place," she said.
"Dad always said you can't date until you're 40 and he has to be able to swim across our largest crocodile pond before he can go out with you."
Irwin reiterated that while she finds herself more interested in boys these days, she's still fully committed to conservation, and family.
"You'll always carry a part of that person in your life,"
she told People magazine in February, recalling the memory of her late father, who passed away in 2006. "I realize that Dad would have wanted me to be happy, to carry love in my heart, and to love every single day."
