Bob Barker will surprise a “Price is Right” audience when he shows up to celebrate his 90th birthday with an appearance on the show he hosted for 35 years.
“We’ve had Bob on just one other time
since Drew Carey took over the show,” executive producer Mike Richards told TV Guide. “It was when Bob’s book, 'Priceless Memories,' came out and it was a priceless moment for fans.”

“The Price is Right” will be pre-taped and will air on Barker’s birthday, Dec. 12, as part of a tribute that will run all week, TV Guide said. Barker retired six years ago, turning the hosting role over to Carey.
Barker, a well-known animal rights activist, will offer a puppy for adoption during the show (and animals will be up for adoption all week during the celebration).
Barker is still incredibly active in the animal rights world, recently paying $1 million to have elephants from the Toronto Zoo moved to a Performing Animals Welfare Sanctuary.
“I am one of millions of people who was just born with a deep love of animals.
I have been devoted to animals since I can remember,” Barker told The Huffinton Post. “As a kid I picked up strays and tried in my clumsy ways to help injured animals. I’ve done it all my life, and now I’m doing it on a much larger scale.”
Barker told the Post he decided to give away the money he earned from his lucrative TV gig before he died, rather than distributing it through a will.
“I would recommend that to other people; give your money away while you’re still alive,” he said, and added that he encouraged everyone who was able to physically volunteer at local organizations, too.
