Bobbi Kristina Brown's family has reportedly chosen to take the 21-year-old off of life support on Wednesday so she can die on the same day as her mother
Whitney Houston, sources told the New York Post's Page Six this week.
Houston, 48, died on Feb. 11, 2012, in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, the day before the Grammy Awards.
While an autopsy ruled that the award-winning singer accidentally drowned, it noted that heart disease and cocaine were contributing factors in her death.
Bobbi Kristina Brown, Houston's only daughter with ex-husband Bobby Brown, has been in a medically induced coma and on life support after she was found face-down in a bathtub at her home in Roswell, Georgia, on Jan. 31, the Post reported.
The Roswell Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Bobbi Kristina Brown
, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Sources with "close ties to the family" told the newspaper Tuesday that the investigation is widening and could involve multiple people.
It was reportedly Brown's grandmother, gospel singer Cissy Houston, who initially broached the subject of taking her off life support on Feb. 11 as a tribute to her mother.
"This is the only thing they can agree on — that she's gone (brain-dead), and there's nothing more than can be done for her," a family source told the Post, adding that Tyler Perry, who was a friend of Houston's, has managed to play peacekeeper between the Houstons and the Browns.
One source said Perry, the filmmaker behind the "Madea" movies, is so trusted by both sides that he has also been given permission to make funeral arrangements afterwards.
"You wouldn't think of him as being someone who'd be a peacemaker, but he's someone both sides really respect," the source told Page Six.
CNN reported Tuesday that authorities are taking a closer look at Nick Gordon, Brown's boyfriend, to find out how she ended up in the bathtub of water. Law enforcement has been silent on its investigation so far.
