Brett Favre: Quarterback's Still Got it, Could Play in NFL, Agent Says

Former All-Pro quarterback Brett Favre could still play in the National Football League, said his agent Bus Cook said during a speaking engagement in Mobile, Ala., on Monday.

The agent said, though, before anyone goes "Oh, not again," he was only making an observation about his famous client and not attempting to drop a hint that Favre is considering a return to the NFL, according to the Mobile Press-Register.

"His arms look like a blacksmith's arms," Cook said, wrote the newspaper. "He rides a bike probably 30-50 miles a day. He runs four or five miles a day. He's coaching at the high school and they're undefeated. He loves it. His body fat is 7.5 percent and he weighs 225 pounds. He could play today, better than a lot of them out there today.''

Favre, who spent most of his career as the record-setting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, retired three times from the NFL, only to return twice, to join the New York Jets for one season and then to lead the Minnesota Vikings to the NFC championship game in 2010, where they lost in the overtime to the New Orleans Saints.

The Press-Register wrote that Cook said Favre could still have an impact on the pro game today, saying his passion for football and being out on the field would immediately set him apart from all of the current NFL quarterbacks.

"And none of them, I don't care who you watch, was more exciting and loved the game (more),'' Cook said of Favre. "He made the game exciting to watch. He was going to throw it to somebody. It may not be who it was supposed to be, but somebody. And he just loved to play football.

"It was never about money with that guy. … The one record he was most proud of was that consecutive starts. He said, 'Because that tells everybody that I gave the man a day's work for a day's play and I got up and I went to work every day of my life,'" Cook added.

Favre is spending his time now coaching football as offensive coordinator at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Miss., wrote the New York Times last year.

While some on Twitter want Favre to go away already, others would be happy to have him pick of the pieces of their team.
