The three-time retired future NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre is standing by his commitment to stay retired after the St. Louis Rams contacted him this week about playing quarterback.
Favre, the former Green Bay Packers star who has also played with the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings, declined the offer. The Rams lost their starting quarterback Sam Bradford to an injury during last Sunday's 30-15 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

ESPN's Adam Shefter broke the news about the Rams' overtures Thursday morning on Twitter.
Favre told WSPZ-AM Thursday morning that no one contacted him directly except for his agent Bus Cook. Favre said he could not see himself joining another NFL team.
"I've had enough," Favre said. "I've had enough a long time ago. ... It's flattering, but there's no way I'm going to do that."
Favre said other teams have given him the same offer this year, but he declined to say which, adding the offers went directly to his agent. He said Cook knows where he stands.
"A couple of teams have inquired," Favre said. "(Cook) doesn't even ask anymore. I say, 'Oh really,' and keep going."
Favre has been staying in shape since his football days. He has gone from 248 to 220 pounds.
"I've been biking and running but I'm not getting hit," Favre told WSPZ. "Being in football shape is a lot different than being in running and biking shape."
Cook caused a stir in the NFL world during a speech in Mobile, Ala., in September, when he said that Favre was working out hard. He said, "Today, he could play today,''
according to AL.com.
