Brian Williams' 'Rapper's Delight' Delights on 'Tonight Show' (Video)

NBC anchor Brian Williams performed the 1979 hit "Rapper's Delight" — sort of — on "The Tonight Show" Wednesday as Jimmy Fallon brought along some of his old bits to his new gig.

The performance, which was actually a video mash-up of Williams broadcasts that pieced together the song one word at a time, followed Fallon's old "Late Night" tradition of using clips of the veteran newscaster to recite other rap hits like Snoop Dogg's "Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang" and N.W.A.'s "Straight Outta Compton."

Fallon took over for longtime "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno on Monday.

Williams' latest rap also featured cameos from weekend anchor Lester Holt and "Today" co-host Kathie Lee Gifford.

Williams had a bit of a tough week after he accidentally offended Arsenio Hall with a "Tonight Show" promo. The promo featured photos of prominent late-night hosts in a "Brady Bunch"-style collage, but Hall, who hosts his own show, was noticeably missing.

During Wednesday's "Nightly News" broadcast, Williams apologized and said the Hall oversight was a result of "being on the air at 4 a.m. in the morning in Russia," where he's covering the Sochi Olympics.

"Arsenio is a late-night veteran and he took us to task on his show. He even urged audience members to call our newsroom," Williams said on the air. He later vowed, "It won't happen again."
