Bristol Palin was confronted by an alleged stalker at her Alaska home over the weekend, prompting a response from police who quickly arrested the 25-year-old Florida man accused of sending her a thousand Facebook messages.
Police detained Peter P. W. Ferrero Sunday evening at Palin's Wasilla home after the 23-year-old said the suspect approached her in her driveway after she arrived home with her
5-year-old son, Tripp, according to the Alaska Dispatch.

Ferrero reportedly told Palin his name was "Peter Paul," a name she recognized as the identity of the Facebook profile that had been sending her the mass messages. The oldest daughter of the former governor of Alaska and 2008 Republican candidate for vice president Sarah Palin then told the man to back off and, when he didn't, she grabbed her son and ran to a neighbor's house to call 911, the Dispatch noted.
According to Sun-Sentinel, Ferrero is originally from Southwest Ranches, Florida, and told police he left home to "live the Alaskan life." He arrived in Alaska on Sept. 3 and told authorities he had planned to stay at a nearby bed and breakfast. On Sunday, he said he was looking for the establishment when he "got hot" and threw his sweatshirt, which just "happened to land on Palin's third-story balcony."
He then tried knocking on Palin's door for help retrieving his sweatshirt, but no one answered, an affidavit stated.
Ferrero said he climbed up to the balcony and attempted to open a door that led to the master bedroom hallway, but it was locked. He then stayed on the balcony until he saw Palin return home, at which time he climbed back down and approached her in the driveway.
Police found evidence that the man had also contacted Palin's 20-year-old sister, Willow, on social media in the past. He reportedly believed he was in some sort of romantic relationship with her, according to the Dispatch.
This was not Bristol Palin's first run-in with an alleged stalker. Last year, she was granted a six-month protective order against Michael Cummings, a 39-year-old man from Texas accused of sending her an engagement ring in 2012. He also is said to have shown up at Palin's parents' house in Wasilla once on Tripp's birthday. A judge then extended that court order in May, noted the Dispatch News.
This was also not the only Palin story to make headlines this week. The entire family reportedly got into a "drunken brawl" at a party in
Anchorage over the weekend, the New York Daily News reported,
