A new lab report identified high levels of toxins in Brittany Murphy’s body, suggesting to her father that the young actress’ death in 2009 may not have been accidental.
Murphy’s father, Angelo Bertolotti, had the tests independently done after learning that certain toxicology tests weren’t performed when his daughter died at age 32 in 2009. Murphy’s death was ruled accidental, and the result of drug intoxication, pneumonia, and anemia (low iron).

Bertolotti has insisted his daughter wasn’t a drug addict or anorexic, as media reports have suggested since her death. Adding to speculation about her death was the fact that her husband, Simon Monjack, 40, died just five months after Murphy of similar problems.
The lab report from the Carlson Company that Bertolotti released,
according to MStars News, reported that 10 heavy metals were detected at “levels higher than the WHO (World Health Organization) high levels.”
“If we were to eliminate the possibility of a simultaneous accidental heavy metal exposure to the sample donor then the only logical explanation would be an exposure to these metals (toxins) administered by a third party perpetrator with likely criminal intent,” MStars quoted the report as saying.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has stated they did not test for poisonous substances when Murphy died.
“Vicious rumors, spread by tabloids,
unfairly smeared Brittany’s reputation,” Bertolotti told the Examiner. “My daughter was neither anorexic nor a drug junkie, as they repeatedly implied. Brittany and Simon were ridiculed by ‘The Hollywood Reporter.’”
Murphy’s death has had its share of unusual circumstances, including
botched court records and other incidents, all detailed in an Examiner article in 2012. At the time, Bertolotti was trying to get access to information about his daughter’s death.
