Cleveland Browns supporters will get free beer the next time their team wins a game.
No, it is not a hoax. Special locked fridges stocked with Bud Light will be placed in and around the Cleveland stadium, and the doors will automatically open via smart technology as soon as the Browns notch their first regular-season victory, For The Win reported.
"The Bud Light Browns 'Victory Fridge' is a fun way to celebrate and reward a fanbase that has never wavered in enthusiasm or dedication for their team no matter what happens," Andy Goeler, vice-president of marketing for Bud Light, said in a statement. "We're proud to show our support for Cleveland, and we're always looking to bring NFL fans and friends together for memorable experiences. It's going to be fun to be part of the celebration when the team earns their first victory of the season."
There will be about a dozen of these eight-foot-tall fridges containing upwards of 200 aluminum 16-ounce bottles planted throughout Cleveland.
Several will be placed inside FirstEnergy Stadium and the rest will be position in undisclosed locations in the city and suburban areas, Cleveland.com noted.
Let's just hope the team can clinch a win and that when it happens you are near one of these fridges.
The Browns have had a notoriously tough time on the field.
Their last regular-season win was Dec. 24, 2016, when they defeated the Chargers 20-17. Before that, their last win was Dec. 13, 2015, USA Today reported.
"Obviously they haven't won in a while," Goeler said, according to Cleveland.com. "When the Cleveland Browns win, at the end of the game, these refrigerators ... will send a wireless signal that will unlock them and give fans the opportunity to have a celebratory Bud Light."
