Bruce Springsteen went off script to attack Trump's family separation policy during his Tuesday, June 19 performance on Broadway, the Asbury Park Press reported.
The iconic musician joined others speaking against Trump's hardened resolve to maintain his policy of separating children from parents who cross the border illegally.
During his "Springsteen on Broadway" performance, the Boss deviated from his setlist to play his song "The Ghost of Tom Joad" in protest of the immigration policy.
"For 146 shows, I have played pretty much the same set every night," he said, according to The Guardian.
"Tonight demands something different," he explained to audiences before launching into the song that was written in 1995 and features the lyrics, "Wherever somebody’s fighting for a place to stand/Or a decent job or a helping hand/Wherever somebody’s struggling to be free/Look in their eyes, Ma, and you’ll see me."
"Springsteen on Broadway" opened up to record sales in October, grossing $2.33 million after five performances at the 975-seat Walter Kerr Theatre.
The show has previously touched upon current events, but not as directly as Tuesday's performance.
That same day, "Family Guy" creator, Seth MacFarlane donated $2 million to NPR, plus $500,000 more to local radio station KPCC, amid heated debates over Trump's immigration policy.
The donation drove home MacFarlane's point after slamming Fox News and its host, Tucker Carlson for a media attack following the release of the Justice Department's inspector general's report on the Hillary Clinton probe.
"Modern Family" creator Judd Apatow also addressed the topic in a tweet.
