Golfer Bubba Watson lashed out at his caddie Sunday at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn., blaming him for the triple bogey that ruined his chances at a win.

Watson went into the 16th hole Sunday with a two-shot lead, but after taking the caddie's selection of clubs, he hit the ball into the water. He can be heard in the TV coverage of the tournament snapping at caddie Ted Scott, "Water. It's in the water. That club. Yes, the water."

Later, after he flew the green on his next shot, Watson said, "So you're telling me that's the right yardage?"

He then missed a putt and says either "There's just no reason for me to show up" or "There's no reason for you to show up." It's unclear in the video.

Scott later took responsibility for the bungled shots.

"I convinced him to hit the wrong club," Scott told PGATour.com. "I 100 percent take responsibility for it. It's totally my fault. I got in the way of the painter on that one."

After cooling off, Watson spoke with reporters.

"Did we do the yardage wrong, was it a gust of wind? We were just trying to figure out what was going on," he said. "We planned to do one thing and it didn't do it. We mis-clubbed is all."

Ken Duke won Sunday's tournament, his first ever PGA Tour win.
