The Byler sextuplets, Florida's first surviving set, celebrated two milestones this week: their sixth birthday and the start of kindergarten.
The Byler family of Wesley Chapel, Fla., welcomed Brady, Eli, Ryan, Jackson, Charlie, and Mackenzie on Sept. 1, 2007, when they became the first surviving sextuplets in the state's history.
"Five boys and one girl. No one else has that mix in the United States,"
mom Karoline Byler told ABC News.

Familiar faces on the local TV news circuits, the Byler kids made headlines when they started pre-kindergarten last year, but now they are returning to school and this time around will be a little different.
In pre-K, three kids were in one class while the other three siblings were in another. Now, all of the sextuplets have been separated into six different classrooms.
"Some of them like it. Some of them don’t," Byler said. "The ones that are more boisterous and outgoing are fine. The ones more quiet don’t. Jackson cried the whole way to school on the first day of school."
Karoline Byler believes being separated will help each child develop his or her own interests. She's just happy to have six happy, healthy kids.
"I couldn’t be thankful enough," she said.
