Twitter cranked up the Casey-Anthony-is-pregnant rumor mill in the middle of the George Zimmerman verdict this weekend, peaking renewed interest in the young mother who beat a charge that she murdered her two-year-old daughter during a sensational July 2011 trial in Florida.
The tweet "Zimmerman is free, Cory Monteith is dead, Kyle Massey has cancer, Casey Anthony is pregnant. On a scale of 1-10 how done are you with this day?" had been retweeted more than 8,500 times by Monday morning.
Other Twitter comments have Anthony being pregnant with twins. Anthony has been in hiding since her acquittal in 2011 and has made a brief appearance in connection with her federal bankruptcy case, according to various media reports.

It is the second Anthony pregnancy claim this year. In March, London's
Daily Mail followed a National Enquirer story that quoted unnamed sources saying Anthony was bragging to friends about being pregnant by a "wealthy man."
"She just said that she fell in love with a very wealthy man while she's been in hiding," the Mail story quote from the supermarket tabloid. "Casey said he's taking care of her financially and he's so obsessed with her that he'll do anything for her."
Anthony has been in the news more about her financial status and her alleged pregnancy. The Orlando Sentinel reported June 25 that two defamation lawsuits filed against Anthony will be heard in federal court where U.S. Bankruptcy Judge K. Rodney May is proceeding over her bankruptcy hearing.
Zenaida Gonzalez and Roy Kronk filed separate defamation suits against Anthony in connection with her murder case. The cases were originally filed in state court in Orange County, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Gonzalez claimed in her lawsuit that Anthony damaged her reputation by telling detectives a nanny with a similar name kidnapped her daughter Caylee in 2008 when she knew that story was not true, said the newspaper.

Kronk, the meter reader who found Caylee's body, charged in his lawsuit that Anthony's defense attorney Jose Baez tried to implicated him in the child's death, again knowing that the claim was false, the Orlando Sentinel said.
The move may help Anthony financially in the long run after Orlando Sentinel reported May saying during the June hearing that she appeared to be "destitute." The newspaper said Anthony's attorney at the June hearing would not divulge what she is doing today or where she is living.
