Snakes are not slithering around the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pa., according to the facility's officials and state police, much to the relief of Indiana Jones and Samuel L. Jackson.
In a rumor that sounded like a spinoff from the 2006 movie "Snakes on a Plane," casino officials fought Facebook rumors that a doctor had treated someone who suffered a
snake bite at the casino, according to the Easton Express-Times.

"If I saw a snake I would jump on a table," casino spokeswoman Julia Corwin said. "If there was any sighting of this there would be no way that we couldn't know about it."
Pennsylvania State Police Trooper William Ortiz confirmed that there have been no reports or evidence of snakes at the casino. The police operate a station inside the facility.
"(There are) absolutely zero snakes in this place," Ortiz said.
The Morning Call reported that the Facebook rumor about the casino snakes continued to grow and was repeated in emails and to the newspaper's tip line.
The Facebook rumor said "that a close family friend went to the casino, noticed a bite they thought came from an insect, only to be told by their doctor that it was a snake bite. Then the doctor says: 'You're the 14th patient I've had this week who got bit at the Sands.'"
The persistent rumor even prompted Las Vegas Sands Corp., the casino's owner, to issue a statement as well.
"There have been no reported incidents of snakes on our property. We do not allow any animals on property with the exception of service animals," the statement read.
The Morning Call noted that first-grade teacher Jennifer Horn, from Moore Township, told them that she suffered an insect bite at the casino on Nov. 10. Moore said that her doctor told her it looked like a snake bite, treated with antibiotics and she was contacted by Bethlehem Health Bureau.
Bureau Director Kristen Wenrich said that the Health Bureau closed the case after determining from St. Luke's and Lehigh Valley hospitals that neither had treated a snake bite in 2013.
"My father asked me about it," State police Sgt. Robert Caprari told the Morning Call. "We've had no such reports, not one. Believe me, if someone got bit by a snake in the casino, I'd know about it."
