Oregon police had some help from a cat that perched on a cop's shoulder during a burglary investigation in Portland this week.
The feline crime scene investigator was found when Officer Sarah Kerwin responded to a burglary report in southeast Portland Monday.
Sgt. Pete Simpson told The Associated Press that Kerwin picked up the cat after she found broken glass in the basement and bathroom of the home.
That's when the cat "happily climbed" on the officer's shoulders and remained there while she concluded her search.

The burglary report came after the homeowner returned to her residence around 4:15 p.m. and found that
her house had been broken into, The Oregonian reported. The newspaper said the suspect appeared to have made off with some of the homeowner's personal items.
According to The Oregonian, the suspect is described as being between 30 and 40 years old, 5-feet tall, and skinny, with curly brown hair. Authorities told the newspaper that the male suspect was wearing a dark-colored track suit with pants tucked into his socks and boots. Another witness said they saw an older white van, driven by a man with dark hair and sunglasses, in the neighborhood.
The tabby sleuth, of course, was a hit on social media.
