Call it "pancake diplomacy." Actor Michael Douglas is trying to woo back wife estranged Catherine Zeta-Jones with a daily helping of pancakes for their two children at the couple's Manhattan penthouse.
According to The Mirror, Douglas, 69, makes the walk from his apartment where he is living apart from his family to the penthouse overlooking Central Park to indulge his children, Dylan 13, and Carys, 10, with "fluffy pancakes topped with maple syrup."
"Michael would give his right arm for reconciliation but Catherine's warned she is not ready to commit and she's still not ruled out divorce," a source told The Mirror. "Catherine is making him suffer."

Zeta-Jones' angst, according to the source, resulted from Douglas' comments after he was diagnosed with tongue cancer. Douglas, though, told the public instead that he was suffering from throat cancer on the advice of his doctor, he told Samuel L. Jackson on the
British TV show "This Morning" in October.
"If we do have to do surgery, it's not going to be pretty," Douglas told Jackson that his doctor told him. Douglas said a surgery could result in them removing his jaw and tongue.
He then took the fake throat cancer announcement one step farther, saying that oral sex led to him contracting it, creating controversy within the medical community – and with Zeta-Jones, 44,
according to The Boston Globe and The Mirror.
"She nursed him through those dark days when cancer almost took his life and she feels the comment about oral sex was like a kick in the teeth," the source told The Mirror.
Douglas told "This Morning" that he is cancer-free and says that doctors tell him that there is a 95 percent chance his cancer will not come back.

Douglas and Zeta-Jones are two of the most successful actors in Hollywood. Douglas has won two Oscars, the latest for leading role in the 1988's "Wall Street." This year he won the best actor in a movie Emmy award for his portrayal of iconic pianist Liberace in the HBO movie "Behind the Candelabra,"
