A 25-year-old Missouri woman has told
Rolling Stone magazine that Charles Manson, the country's best known convicted killer, is her man, she's his girlfriend, and they will soon be getting married.
The woman, only identified as Star in the Rolling Star article posted online Wednesday, said she had been writing Manson since she was 19 and moved to California two years ago to be close to the Corcoran State Prison where he is held.
"I'll tell you straight up, Charlie and I are going to get married," Star told Rolling Stone. "When that will be, we don't know. But I take it very seriously. Charlie is my husband. Charlie told me to tell you this. We haven't told anybody about that."

Manson, though, is playing hard to get, according to the magazine.
"That's a bunch of garbage," Manson told Rolling Stone about his upcoming nuptials. "You know that, man. That's trash. We're just playing that for public consumption."
Star told Rolling Stone she was disappointed to learn that Manson is not allowed conjugal visits because of his life sentence or she would have dragged him to the altar already.
"Yeah, well, people can think I'm crazy," Rolling Stone quotes Star as saying. "But they don't know. This is what's right for me. This is what I was born for."
Star told the magazine she grew up in a "deeply religious family" in St. Louis, but started doing drugs. She said she became infatuated with Manson after reading the convicted killer's environmental writings.
According to the
San Francisco Chronicle's website SF Gate, Star operates the
blog titled "Release Charles Manson Now."
"We are seeking justice for Manson, and justice for our planet Earth," the blog states. "Manson is an honorable man, with much insight and wisdom that is recognized by a great number of people of all ages and cultures. We the people are demanding that Charles Manson be released now."

In the late 1960s, the convicted killer created the Manson family cult and believed that the country was on verge of a world-ending race war. Manson allegedly masterminding a series of murders to help his prediction along.
In 1969, Manson and his followers were convicted in the murder of actress Sharon Tate and several other grisly deaths.
