Christine Cavanaugh Dies: 'Rugrats,' 'Babe' Voice Actress Was 51

Voice actress Christine Cavanaugh, known as the voice of Chuckie in “Rugrats” and as Babe the pig in the 1995 movie “Babe,” died just before Christmas on Dec. 22. She was 51.

Cavanaugh, who also voiced Dexter in "Dexter’s Laboratory," began her acting career in 1988, and retired from it in 2001 to move to be closer to family.

“She was able to do incredible and amazing things with her voice and bring lots of smiles and many laughs to many people who are now young adults,” Cavanaugh's obituary in The Los Angeles Times said.

Cavanaugh was divorced from Kevin James Cavanaugh and had no biological children. She was born in Utah, attended Utah State University and University of Hawaii and moved to California to pursue a career in acting.
