St. Louis’ largest inter-racial church, FaithChurch.com, is staging its own “love riot” in Missouri to combat what it called is a climate of racism and hate.
Saying violence seems to get the bulk of today's media attention, a church news release said its members were coming together "to shed enough love and light to take back the airwaves" on Tuesday night.
The church said it invited local and nationally recognized athletes, pastors, leaders, and government officials to attend.
"We’re excited to welcome Pastor Aeneas Williams (National Football League Hall of Fame), Jamie Dukes (former NFL player and current NFL commentator), and the Revs. Freddy J. Clark (Shalom Church) and Daren Carstens (EnjoyChurch.tv).
“You can’t fight hate with more hate. You have to fight hate with LOVE!” David Crank, senior pastor of FaithChurch.com said. “If we’re all proclaiming the LOVE of Jesus, why are we throwing stones?”
FaithChurch.com said it is is one church with more than 18,000 members across multiple locations in Missouiri and West Palm Beach, Florida.
