Arizona Diamondbacks fans can indulge in a sugary sweet Churro Dog during the upcoming season, the latest crazy concession item at the stadium.
The dessert was created by Diamondbacks team chef Michael Snoke, and
ESPN described it as “a warm cinnamon churro sitting inside a Long John chocolate-glazed donut, which is then topped with frozen yogurt, caramel and chocolate sauces.”
All that luscious sweetness brings dessert to a calorie count of 1,117 and a price of $8.50,
MSN said, calling the Churro Dog dollar amount, “not too shabby, so far as the dramatically inflated monetary conversion rate generally applied to foodstuffs at stadiums.”
"We've found that desserts work really well in the heat we have here," team president and CEO Derrick Hall told ESPN.
Snoke didn’t use frozen yogurt instead of ice cream to keep the calorie count down. “Chef Snoke thought it tasted better than ice cream," Hall told ESPN. "Plus, using frozen yogurt is easier to execute on the spot at the game."
Last year, the
Diamondbacks rolled out an 18-inch corn dog stuffed with cheese, bacon, and jalapenos.
The mouth-watering photos of the Churro Dog pulled in a strong internet response.
