One of Lori Loughlin's daughters allegedly is under criminal investigation for her involvement in the college admissions scandal, sources told the Daily Mail.
Court documents have made it clear that there were students aware their parents were paying thousands of dollars in bribes to get their kids into prominent universities however, none have been charged or arrested yet. That could change as investigations now reportedly are focusing on students involved in the scam.
According to the Daily Mail, multiple sources have claimed one of Loughlin's daughters received a target letter from federal prosecutors in Massachusetts stating she was now a subject of investigation and could face criminal charges.
"It is a not-so-veiled threat," said one anonymous source. The US Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts "is making it pretty clear that they have evidence that very strongly suggests she knew of the illegal plot."
Another source explained that several target letters were issued earlier this month as prosecutors seek additional defendents in the case.
"It is clear that some students are going to be charged," one source told The Daily Mail, explaining that at least five other students had received similar letters.
The report comes amid news that Loughlin, her fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli and other prominent parents have pleaded not guilty to the scam. In court documents filed Monday, the Hollywood actress said she and her husband were waiving their right to appear in court for an arraignment.
Meanwhile their other daughter, Olivia Jade Giannulli, has been fielding criticism from all fronts. Most recently, she was destroyed online by social media followers who forced the 19-year-old to disable all comments to her Instagram account after being bombarded with scathing remarks, USA Today reported.
