Connor Cruise' relationship with his adoptive mother Nicole Kidman is "solid," according to the 19-year-old DJ, who hasn't been photographed in public with his Academy Award-winning mother in years.
Connor and his 21-year-old sister Isabella Cruise were adopted by the Australian actress and then husband Tom Cruise. Following the pair's 2001 divorce, the children chose to remain living with their father.
While touring Australia,
Connor discussed his relationship with Kidman in an exclusive interview with Woman's Day magazine, dismissing any rumors that their bond had been worn away with time and distance.

"I love my mum," Connor told the Australian magazine. "I don’t care what people say, I know that me and Mum are solid. I love her a lot."
"My family means everything. Yeah, I love my music, but the family comes before everything else," Connor added.
Kidman, 46, is
now the mother of two young daughters – 5-year-old Sunday Rose and 2-year-old Faith, with her New Zealand-born and Australian-raised country music musician and songwriter Keith Urban.
Despite the encouraging testament from Connor, Kidman's relationship with her adult children appeared to have shown some signs of strain in recent years.
Citing a 2007 interview with Britain's GMTV,
US Weekly reported that in 2007 Kidman told the TV channel that her adult children were no longer calling her mom, but rather by her first name after they had been living with Cruise for several years.
In an interview with Britain's Hello! magazine in 2010, Kidman further lamented her separation with Connor and her sister, and their decision to live with their adopted father, US Weekly noted.
"They live with Tom, which was their choice," the Australian actress told Hello! magazine. "I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?"
A source close to Connor and Isabella told US Weekly back in 2012 that, "Isabella does still speak to Nicole, as does Connor, just not as much as they used to when they were younger and Tom and Nicole were together."
"Nicole is far away and doesn't visit L.A. often so there's naturally going to be that distance," the source added.
