Craig Strickland, Country Singer, Is Missing; Fellow Hunter Dead

Country singer Craig Strickland remained missing after going duck hunting in Oklahoma with a friend whose body was found by authorities on Monday.

Strickland, 29, the lead singer of the country-rock band Backroad Anthem, went out duck hunting with friend Chase Morland, 22, on Kaw Lake early Sunday in stormy conditions, according to KFOR-TV.

Authorities started looking for the pair later that day when they failed to return from the trip. The boat the men had been in was found capsized on Sunday night.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Morland's body was found in the lake but Strickland remained missing.

The band confirmed the information on Facebook.

Morland posted on Twitter on Sunday about the hunting trip.


The Oklahoman said officials haven't confirmed if Morland's death was storm related.

Officials said the search for Strickland would continue Tuesday, noted KFOR-TV. Forecasters expected two inches of snow across parts of Oklahoma on Tuesday night.

Fans and friends asked for prayers on social media.
