Manhattan's Upper East Side is now home to the city's first cupcake ATM after Sprinkles bakery launched its 24-hour machine this week.

The cupcake ATM, which opened Tuesday, sits outside Sprinkles' Lexington Avenue store and is stocked two to three times a day with fresh baked goods, according to the New York Daily News. Flavors include red velvet, Cuban coffee, banana dark chocolate, and cinnamon sugar, among others, and each cupcake costs $4.25.

Charles Nelson, who founded Sprinkles with his wife Candace in 2005, said he first got the idea for the 24-hour cupcake ATM six years ago.

"It was the middle of the night, and my wife really wanted a cupcake," he told the New York Post. "I own a cupcake shop and couldn't even get a cupcake!"

Sprinkles already has cupcake ATMs in Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas, but the Lexington Avenue machine is New York City's first.

The ATM also reportedly dispenses sugar-free doggie cupcakes with yogurt frosting.
