A dad who cut off his jeans into a tattered version of short-shorts to try and impress his daughter with the impact of her immodest clothing has become an Internet sensation – and a hero to many parents.
Utah father Scott MacIntosh tried to prove a point after his daughter, Myley MacIntosh, got into an argument with her mother over the short-shorts Myley was wearing for a family evening out,
according to Yahoo.com. Instead of letting the argument escalate, MacIntosh calmly cut off a pair of jeans, donned a shirt that said, “Best. Dad. Ever.” and headed out the door for dinner and mini golf.

People stared at MacIntosh, but Myley didn’t say a word. That is, until the family stopped to get ice cream and then she refused to get out of the car because she was embarrassed, Yahoo said.

scattered quickly through Internet social media, and MacIntosh took to his wife’s blog,
Becky Mack’s Blog of Mild Chaos, to explain his decision to handle the clothing and modesty issue this way.
“I’m a firm believer that the way we dress sends messages about us, and it influences the way we and others act. (okay okay – I’m the first to admit I look like a redneck and I may say “crick” instead of “creek”) But that’s beside the point,” MacIntosh wrote on the blog. “My teenage daughter day after day continues to wear clothing that I, as her father, feel is inappropriate and immodest. Her mother and I feel the same about the importance of dressing modest.”
The evening in question was an attempt, he said, to show his daughter that short-shorts don’t look as cute as she thinks they do. And while his daughter didn’t admit that he’s right – there was no “ah-ha” where she said “thanks for the awesome lesson,” MacIntosh said – he still felt as if he made his point.
“But no matter if social media gets the story mixed up and twisted, my daughter will always know that her dad loves her and cares about her enough to make a fool out of himself,” MacIntosh wrote.
