ABC officially announced the lineup of "Dancing With the Stars" Wednesday, ending weeks of speculation about which celebrities would vie for the Disco Ball trophy on the 17th season of the competitive dancing show.

From reality TV personalities to professional athletes and actors to singers, "DWTS" has always attracted a diverse cast and producers are hoping season 17 can deliver, despite a recent ratings tumble.

As in seasons past, a rumored roster of contestants has been floating around the Internet in the weeks leading up to the official announcement.

One of the most notable rumored contestants was Valerie Harper, who played Rhoda on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and later on the spinoff "Rhoda." The 74-year-old revealed earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer that gave her just months to live.

Leah Remini was also widely expected to put on her dancing shoes as a celebrity contestant. The "King of Queens" actress created a buzz recently when she left Scientology after 30 years as a member of the cult-like religion

But now the wait is over and the speculation can cease. Here is the newest cast of "DWTS":

Valerie Harper — Actress, "The Mary Tyler Moore Show"

Keyshawn Johnson — Former NFL star

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi — Reality TV star, "Jersey Shore"

Christina Milian — Singer

Brant Daugherty — Actor, "Pretty Little Liars"

Bill Nye — Bill Nye the Science Guy

Elizabeth Berkley — Actress, "Saved By The Bell"

Corbin Bleu — Actor, "High School Musical"

Amber Riley — Actress, "Glee"

Bill Engvall — Comedian

Jack Osbourne — Ozzy Osbourne's son

Leah Remini — Actress, "King of Queens"

"DWTS" premieres Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
