Darren Sanders, chief of security for the Baltimore Ravens, was charged with a sex offense Tuesday.
Sanders is accused of groping a 34-year-old woman after a game in December.
According to court documents, "He hit and/or groped her buttocks more than once as they walked down the third level hallway,"
The Associated Press reported. Sanders also is accused of pressing up against the woman, kissing her neck, and trying to force her to touch his genitals.
Sanders is on paid administrative leave, and the Ravens organization is investigating the incident, Senior Vice President Kevin Byrne told the AP.
The charge is a fourth-degree sex offense, which is a misdemeanor that carries a maximum of a year in jail or a fine of $1,000, or both,
The Baltimore Sun reported. Sanders, who was not arrested, was assigned a Feb. 9 court date.
The complaint was lodged on Dec. 14, and the accuser obtained a temporary peace order against Sanders last week.
Sanders’ attorney, Andrew Alperstein, told The Baltimore Sun that the charges were false.
"He's had nothing but an exemplary career, both with the police department and the Ravens. He wouldn't get to the position he's in if he didn't," Alperstein said.
