Daryl Hannah, Sean Hannity Spar Over Keystone Pipeline

Fox News host Sean Hannity sparred with Actress Daryl Hannah on Wednesday night over environmental issues, particularly the proposed Keystone Pipeline which just hours earlier she had been protesting outside the White House, resulting in her arrest.

Hannah and other environmentalists oppose the pipeline, which they argue will contribute to global warming through the creation of more "dirty oil."

If built, the 1,700-mile pipeline would cost $7 billion to construct and carry synthetic crude oil derived from tar sands in western Canada to Texas' Gulf Coast refineries.

President Barack Obama opposes construction of the pipeline.

Appearing on Hannity's 9 p.m. show, Hannah, 52, challenged the conservative host's positions on the pipeline and global warming.

Hannah: "You have children, right? You want them to live in a world where there’s water and food and a livable climate [and] that they won’t be struggling to survive, right?"

Hannity: "The Middle East they drill for oil all day. We do it in this country. Look at North Dakota, no problems."

Hannah: "This is different, this isn't drilling for oil. This is extreme lethal extraction. You were in New York during Sandy, right? Do you want more of those kinds of events?"

Hannity: "I don't believe that this global warming nonsense is real . . . I want clean air, clean water and I don't want hurricanes. I'm a good person."

After a few more exchanges over the environment, Hannah corrected the Fox News host when he labeled her a "liberal," which she does not consider herself to be.

Hannity: "Now I give you credit 'cause you're not a hypocrite like a lot of these Learjet (private jet manufacturer) limousine liberals."

Hannah: (laughing) But you call me a liberal anyway, even though I don't consider myself one.

Hannity: "Are you denying. You're a big liberal c'mon."

Hannah: "I don't believe in these isms and things. I just believe we're all human beings and we all want to live and we want to thrive."

Hannity: "But you voted for Obama so I vote for conservatives."

Hannah: "You don't know who I vote for."

Hannity: "You voted for Obama!"

Hannah: "I don't like politics. I don't trust politicians. That's where I stand."

The interview ended in laughs with Hannity promising to mail her the $100 she paid earlier in the day to make bail after she was arrested, keeping a prior promise to the actress if she was ever arrested for protesting.

Other notable individuals arrested at the protest include attorney and radio host Robert F. Kennedy Jr., NASA climate scientist James Hansen, civil rights leader Julian Bond, and Sierra Club executive director Michael Brune.
